Let’s face it, fundraising kind of blows.
You’re always chasing down friends and family begging them to buy whatever it is your child is slanging that month to raise money for their field trip, or to expand their new music program at school.
Unfortunately, it’s a necessary evil. If you don’t contribute to the fundraising events, you look like a bad parent, and if you do, you find yourself schlepping your kids around the neighborhood and banging on doors trying to sell cookie and pizza dough to your neighbors who are all now, miraculously, GLUTEN FREE.
I won’t lie when I say that sometimes I’ve just said “SCREW IT!” and written a check for $100.00 and sent my kid on her way.
My husband and I never turn down kids who are fundraising, which is why we are never out of cookie dough, or popcorn. Yes, popcorn- we actually just bought a bag from the Boy Scouts last week for FIFTEEN DOLLARS. Yes, you read that correctly, we spent $15.00 on a BAG OF POPCORN.
Well friends, and moms’ and dads’ of the PTA, I’ve got some good news. I was recently introduced to a new company called KEEKA. Keeka reached out to me and shared their fundraising model, and I have to admit- it’s freakin’ genius.
Members of the PTA or the fundraising organizers log onto Keeka.com and simply place an order for headphones.
Headphones? WHAT?! Stay with me here for a minute…
You order twenty pairs of headphones for $60.00USD. They come in a pre-packaged box (which is quite cute, if you ask me).
You child is now equipped with a box of headphones that literally appeal to almost everyone with a smart phone.
How you like THEM apples? Imagine how much easier this would have been back in our day? Rather than carrying around that pamphlet and trying to push $25.00 wrapping paper, kids can now be sent out and about with a cool KEEKA box full of headphones. And, let’s be honest here, who has not purchased at least three back up’s of headphones? Or, if you’re my family, you purchase a new pair every time you take a road trip because a certain someone seems to lose them at EVERY SINGLE STOP. (*cough* BARB MARLEY *cough*)
KEEKA’s site is so easy to use. You simply log onto www.Keeka.com and place an order for the number of boxes (of 20 sets of headphones) that you want.
What’s awesome about Keeka is that their headphones cost $3.00/pair, and most sell them for $10.00. Hell, in San Diego where you get $15.o0 for a bag of popcorn, you could probably even sell them for more than that! So, if you did sell them for $10.00/set, you’re making a profit total of $7.00/pair, which comes out to $140.00 per box!
Keeka includes everything you need in the kit from the headphones to tips on how to make sales, as well as instructions on how to order additional Keeka earphones.

Pin for Later!
How to place an order with Keeka:
Shipping runs at $9.95 for one tote, and $18.95 for four totes– and with the awesome factor these little totes hold, that’s well worth it. I’m actually thinking of forwarding this onto my daughter’s school so that they can have a look at this option for fundraising techniques for their school.
A couple shots I took of the Keeka headphones they sent me!
I seriously love this idea so much. If you enjoyed this post and think that you know of others that might benefit from it, please share it! I know that schools, PTA moms’ and dads’ are always looking for new, unique ways for fundraising and this is definitely one of them!
As always, if you enjoyed this post, if you could please give me a click on the brown banner below to vote for my site, I’d greatly appreciate it! Each click is a vote for my site and helps more than you know!
I hate when kids knock on our door to sell stuff but mainly because they lack manners. This is a genius idea, I would buy these as stocking stuffers and pair them with an iTunes giftcard.
Fundraising does suck. You found a way to make it easier, though. These headphones will appeal to so many people.
This is amazing!!!! We need fundraising ideas all the time yes yes yes
This is totally genius! I am so done with cookie dough and over-priced wrapping paper. This at least is something we can all use!!! Thanks for sharing!
First of all, I would much rather buy a pair of headphones than a bag of popcorn (which I actually just buy at Costco for pennies per bag lol) and I could give the headphones as gifts…so win win!! So basically, this is genius!
Super great idea (as an owner of let’s see … 5 sets of ear buds, no 6 – I can certainly see the value). And my favorite color has got to be beige or maybe it’s black because that’s all I seem to own. 😉 (Disclaimers are important and even though I have no site, I do have Sarah Nenni-Daher) No compensation for these comments
These are awesome! Such a great idea! We just bought a huge box of microwave popcorn from the boy scouts, and now we are fundraising for the school. Next, it will be Girl Scout cookie time or some thing else…never ending. This is a really unique idea, and something I’d actually like to buy.
I wish the kids would just go back to the good old candy bar fundraising instead of ordering from crazy magazines, but that is just me. And of course I would buy a sweet pair of headphones because Lord knows where mine all disappear to!
This is much more useful than $15 popcorn! The designs are really cute. It would make a great gift for friends or family.
Such an awesome idea!! Kids would love those!
I like this. Kinda like how I always end up with 20 boxes of Girls Scout cookies from the troops standing outside my Walmart with a TABLE FULL OF COOKIES. Way better than when a kid asks you to order something then you forget you bought it…
Those are actually super cute. With one of the fundraisers we do, you actually HAVE to sell or opt out for $50. So I would rather purchase something cute like this that will resell easily. Plus, in my son’s school, they are each required to have a pair of earbuds/earphones in the classroom, so this could kill two birds with one stone, so to speak!
Brilliant idea!! I am going to suggest to my PTA!
Cute! I hate fundraising but I’m trying to have a better attitude about it. I’d buy these as stocking stuffers or to add to a birthday party gift. It’s nice to have something on hand for when you need a gift last minute.
I remember trying to sell magazine subscriptions in middle school. I can only imagine what a pain it was for my parents! This looks like way more fun. 🙂
